A New York office posting may filter for NY bar as a hard condition. If Bar Admission: New York does not appear as parseable text, your application may not pass the jurisdictional filter.

List each representative matter as a separate bullet entry under the relevant role. Include deal type, counterparty type, and transaction size where confidentiality permits. Some BigLaw ATS configurations extract law school name and journal membership as structured fields. Include your law school name, degree, graduation year, and any law review, moot court, or honors in a clearly labeled Education section. Do not bury these details in a summary paragraph.
For international attorneys, listing LL.M. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school in the Education section adds keyword weight for roles that filter for U.S. legal education. Also explicitly note any state bar admission obtained following the LL.M. in a Bar Admissions section.
Common causes include bar admission listed only in the header, practice area keywords described without being explicitly named, representative matters written as paragraph blocks rather than structured bullet entries, law school credentials buried in a summary, and keyword gaps between your stated practice area and the exact terminology in the job description.
