How ATS systems parse social worker resumes
- Licensure levels (LSW, LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, LICSW) are parsed as distinct tokens. Each state has its own abbreviations, and an ATS will screen for that state's exact designation.
- Population and setting keywords (child welfare, foster care, mental health, substance use disorder, geriatric, medical, school social work) are filtered individually. Not naming the population or setting lowers your match score.
- Intervention terms like CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and case management are increasingly screened in clinical and behavioral health postings.
