Enhancv's cheapest per-month rate is $16.50, its month-to-month plan was observed at $29, and its "free plan" is a 7-day window that stamps Enhancv branding on anything you download. Those three facts answer most of what people actually search for about Enhancv, and almost no review page states them with a date attached. We could not read a single USD price off Enhancv's own pricing page on 16 August 2026, because that page renders prices client-side and by visitor region, so every figure below carries the source we took it from and the day we observed it. This is a review of what Enhancv really does, including the ATS check that most "alternative" pages wrongly claim it does not have, plus an honest account of where Resume Optimizer Pro costs less, where it does not, and what our scoring engine does that Enhancv's does not.

Enhancv At a Glance: Cost, Free Plan and Verdict

The short version, with every figure sourced and dated. Enhancv is frequently typed as EnhanceCV, Enhance CV, Enhancev or EnhanCV, and all of those spellings refer to this same product.

Refunds Monthly fees are non-refundable. Quarterly and semiannual plans get a partial pro-rated refund, calculated at the monthly rate.
Our verdict Buy Enhancv if the resume is going to a human first and design matters. Buy an optimizer instead if the resume is going through application portals and you need it rewritten to match each posting, not just audited.

One correction up front, because it matters for anyone comparing tools: Enhancv does score your resume against a specific job ad. Its Pro plan includes a built-in ATS Check and a Resume Tailoring feature that takes a pasted job posting. Any page telling you Enhancv only analyses your resume "in isolation" is out of date, and until this refresh that included an earlier version of this page. What separates the two products is not whether a score exists, it is what happens after the score. We cover that in full further down.

Enhancv Pricing in 2026: Every Plan and What We Actually Observed

Start with the thing no other page on this SERP tells you: there is no single Enhancv price. On 16 August 2026 we loaded enhancv.com/pricing and the price slots rendered as euro placeholders and literal NaN values, because the table is built client-side and localised by visitor geography. We could not read one USD figure off the vendor's own page. Rather than publish a number we cannot stand behind, we publish the observations, the sources and the dates.

Two things were readable directly from Enhancv on that date. The pricing page title tag reads, verbatim, "Resume Builder Starting from $16.50 and 7-Day Free Plan | Enhancv", which is the vendor's own published entry price. And the help centre names exactly three paid billing periods: Monthly, Quarterly and Semiannual. There is no weekly plan, despite what several comparison pages claim.

Source Observed Monthly Quarterly Semiannual Cheapest per month
enhancv.com/pricing (title tag) 16 Aug 2026 Not readable Not readable Not readable $16.50
resumegenius.com review 16 Aug 2026 $29 $59 ($19.67/mo) $99 ($16.50/mo) $16.50
wahresume.com alternatives page 16 Aug 2026 $24.99 $49.97 ($16.66/mo) $79.94 ($13.33/mo) $13.33

Per-month equivalents in brackets are our arithmetic on the observed totals, not figures Enhancv publishes.

The best-corroborated set is the Resume Genius one, and here is why: its $99 semiannual works out at exactly $16.50 per month, which matches the $16.50 Enhancv itself advertises in its own page title. Two independent artefacts agreeing on the same derived number is the strongest signal available without a readable vendor table.

The wahresume set is not wrong so much as older, or served to a different cohort. Enhancv price-tests, and a builder that renders prices client-side by region is a builder that can show two visitors two different tables on the same afternoon. Any competitor page quoting one flat Enhancv price without a date is quoting a cohort, not a price list. Before you subscribe, open the pricing page yourself, in your own browser and your own currency, and read what it actually offers you.

A correction we owe readers of this page

Earlier versions of this article published a three-tier Enhancv price list, including a weekly plan. We have deleted all of it. None of those figures came from a source we can produce, and Enhancv's help centre names only three billing periods, Monthly, Quarterly and Semiannual, with no weekly plan among them. We are not restating the withdrawn numbers here, because at least one third-party review has already republished them from us, and repeating a wrong figure inside a correction is how it survives. Everything on this page now carries a source and an observation date, and where we could not confirm a figure we say so instead of estimating.

Is Enhancv Free? The 7-Day Plan, What It Gives and What It Blocks

No, not permanently. Enhancv's "Free Plan" is valid for 7 days. Enhancv's own help centre puts it plainly: "You get 7 days of free access to get a taste of our Pro features", with "no card required". That duration is the single most important fact for anyone searching whether Enhancv is free, and it is the fact most reviews leave out.

Source: Enhancv help centre article on the free version, plus the free-plan column of enhancv.com/pricing, both observed 16 August 2026.

Can you download a PDF without paying? Yes, and it will carry Enhancv branding. The plan comparison only makes sense that way: "Enhancv branding" is listed as a free-plan attribute and "No branding" as a Pro attribute, which implies free downloads happen. A third-party review observed on 16 August 2026 puts a number on it, describing the trial as allowing you to create and download up to two resumes and cover letters, with branding on the files. Treat that two-document cap as third-party observed, not vendor-confirmed, because Enhancv publishes no free-tier document count anywhere we could find.

The 12-section-item cap is the constraint people hit first. A single mid-career resume with four jobs, three bullet-heavy roles, a skills block and an education entry will run past twelve items quickly, so the free window works better as a look at the editor than as a way to finish a real document.

For comparison, and stated accurately rather than flatteringly: our own free entry point is a match score and a specific gap list against a job description, with no credit card. It is not a free document factory either. Trial PDF downloads from our editor carry a visible watermark, and trial editing sessions include a limited number of AI assist actions. Different shape of free, same honest caveat: both products expect you to pay before you walk away with a clean file.

Is Enhancv Worth It? Our Verdict by User Type

"Worth it" depends entirely on who reads your resume first. Three profiles, three different answers.

The design-forward candidate

Yes, buy Enhancv. If you are applying to design, marketing, brand or agency roles where a portfolio-adjacent resume goes straight to a hiring manager, Enhancv is the best-looking output in this category and $16.50 per month on the semiannual plan is a fair price for it. Nothing we build competes on visual distinctiveness, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

The high-volume applicant

Probably not. If you are sending 15 or more applications a week through corporate portals, the bottleneck is per-posting tailoring, not template choice. Enhancv will tell you what is missing against each job ad. Closing those gaps across fifteen postings is manual work, and that is where the hours go.

The one-application user

Use the 7 days, then decide. One internal move or one referral does not justify a subscription of any kind. Take the free week, keep the section count under twelve, and be aware the file you export will carry Enhancv branding unless you upgrade.

The pattern across all three: Enhancv is priced and built as a design and drafting product with an audit layer on top. That is a legitimate product, and for the first profile it is the right purchase. It is a poor fit when the volume of tailoring, rather than the quality of the layout, is what is costing you interviews.

Enhancv Reviews: What Users Actually Rate It

Aggregate sentiment is genuinely positive. On reviews.io, observed 16 August 2026, Enhancv holds 4.5 out of 5 from 5,318 reviews, with 90% of reviewers saying they would recommend it. That is a large sample by resume-tool standards and it is not a rating you can dismiss.

What reviewers consistently praise: how quickly the editor gets you to a finished-looking document, the visual quality of the output, responsive customer support, and reported interview callbacks after switching to an Enhancv-built resume.

What the critical reviews cluster around: PDF export problems, described as broken formatting, misplaced logos and spacing that differs from what the editor showed; AI content suggestions that need heavy manual editing before they read like a person wrote them; and template rigidity, where users who wanted to keep their own structure found the template fighting them.

Two honest caveats about review data on this brand. First, Trustpilot carries an Enhancv profile, but it returned an access error to our fetch on 16 August 2026, so we are not quoting a Trustpilot score in either direction. Second, one of the highest-ranking results for Enhancv review queries is a sharply critical thread on a large user forum. We are not quoting individuals from it, but pretending the critical end of the distribution does not exist would be the kind of review you should not trust. A 4.5 average with a visible unhappy tail is a normal, healthy picture for a subscription product in this category.

Read those export-formatting complaints alongside the ATS question below. A file that renders differently on export than it did in the editor is a formatting risk before it is ever a parsing risk.

Is Enhancv Safe? Data, AI and Privacy

You are about to upload your full employment history, so this is a fair question to ask of any resume tool, including ours. Everything below comes from Enhancv's privacy policy at enhancv.com/privacy, fetched 16 August 2026. The policy itself states a last-updated date of 23 July 2024.

  • Third-party AI provider named: OpenAI, listed under AI technology providers. Your resume text reaches a model operated by a company other than Enhancv, which is true of essentially every AI resume tool including this one.
  • Selling or sharing data: the policy states Enhancv has "not sold or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months".
  • AI training on your content: the policy does not address this either way. We are reporting an absence, not an accusation. If it matters to you, ask their support directly and get the answer in writing.
  • Retention: information is kept "as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law", after which it is deleted or anonymised.
  • Account deletion: deleting your account removes your information from their database, cloud storage and third-party services, including photos and resumes. Email address and payment information are retained for accounting and refund purposes.
  • Your rights: GDPR access, copy, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing; CCPA access, correction and deletion.
  • Security certifications: we found no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification published on any Enhancv page we fetched. Their information page for organisational clients uses the phrase "enterprise-grade data protection and GDPR-compliant storage", which is marketing language rather than a named audit. The policy also carries the standard disclaimer that no internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Our read: unremarkable and broadly fine. There is no red flag here. The two things worth knowing before you sign up are that a named third-party model provider sees your content, and that the policy is silent on training. One practical note if you go looking yourself: enhancv.com/privacy-policy returns a 404, and the live document sits at enhancv.com/privacy.

Cancelling Enhancv, Auto-Renewal and Refunds

All of this comes from three Enhancv help centre articles on plans, cancellation and refunds, fetched 16 August 2026. It is the part of the buying decision most reviews skip, and it is where the real cost of a multi-month plan shows up.

Auto-renewal is on by default. In Enhancv's words, "At the beginning of each billing period, you'll be automatically charged for the entire period", and subscriptions renew "automatically for the new billing period except if the user cancels his plan".

Cancelling happens on the Billing page, before your next billing date. Enhancv states it is "solely your responsibility to cancel the subscription through the Billing page before the next billing date". Cancelling stops future charges and you keep Pro access until the period you already paid for runs out.

A genuinely useful detail almost nobody publishes: after cancelling, you can still download your resumes from the platform. What you lose is editing. To change a document again, you have to resubscribe. So export everything you might need before the period ends.

Refunds split sharply by plan. Monthly fees are, per the policy, "non-refundable and non-cancelable". Quarterly and semiannual plans are "eligible for a partial pro-rated refund", but read how it is computed: you are charged for the months you used at the price of a Monthly plan, and Enhancv refunds the difference.

Two more things to know: cancelling does not itself trigger a refund, you have to request one through the help centre; and fees paid with a promo code, along with affiliate credits, are non-refundable.

What Enhancv's ATS Check Does, and What It Does Not Do

This is where most Enhancv alternative pages get it wrong, and where an earlier version of this page got it wrong too. Enhancv scores your resume against a specific job ad. Its own information page states that the "Built-in ATS Check reads your resume the way an applicant tracking system would and scores it against the exact job ad you are applying for", and it ships a dedicated Resume Tailoring feature for exactly that workflow. Observed 16 August 2026.

The mechanics, from Enhancv's own feature documentation: you paste a job ad, and the tool returns an ATS score plus 27 checks spanning file format and template compatibility, whether your listed experience and skills line up with the posting, education, contact-header formatting and grammar. The ATS check is a Pro feature; it is not part of the 7-day free plan.

So what is the actual difference? Enhancv's check is an audit. It tells you, accurately and in detail, what is missing. Closing those gaps is your job: you go back into the editor and rewrite the bullets yourself. Multiply that by every posting you apply to and the audit becomes the cheap part of the process.

Resume Optimizer Pro is built around the step after the audit. We score the resume against the posting, then rewrite the resume to close the gap and re-score it, so the output is a submittable document rather than a to-do list. The second difference is how the score is computed: we weight a matched skill by where it appears in your history, not merely whether the word is present. The next section documents that weighting in full.

One fair point in Enhancv's favour on templates. Multi-column layouts, graphical elements and non-standard section blocks are harder for parsers to read reliably, and Enhancv ships plenty of designs in that family. But template compatibility is one of the 27 things its own check looks at, so a Pro user who runs the check is not flying blind about it. The risk is real; it is not unmonitored.

On our own templates, we will say only what is checkable in the file itself rather than making a compatibility promise no vendor can honestly make: single-column body flow so content is read in one order, conventional section headings a parser recognises, real selectable text instead of text baked into graphics, and DOCX output alongside PDF. Those properties are inspectable in any document we generate.

Month-to-month price$29 (observed 16 Aug 2026)$29.95
Cheapest per-month rate$16.50 (semiannual, $99)$9.95 (annual, $119.40)

On price, plainly. Month to month, Enhancv is cheaper than us: $29 against our $29.95. That gap is 95 cents and it goes their way, and any page telling you we are simply "more affordable" is not counting. Where the comparison flips is on longer commitments. Our quarterly plan is $49.95 total, which is $16.65 per month, against an observed Enhancv quarterly of $59, which is $19.67 per month. Our annual plan is $119.40, which is $9.95 per month, against Enhancv's cheapest observed rate of $16.50 per month on the semiannual plan.

An oddity worth noting for anyone cross-checking these numbers: our $49.95 quarterly and one observed Enhancv quarterly of $49.97 sit two cents apart. Different plan sets, same shelf position.

The honest summary: our annual plan is the cheapest thing on this table by a wide margin, our quarterly beats their quarterly, and their month-to-month beats ours by under a dollar. Pick on billing period, not on a blanket claim.

How Our Match Score Is Calculated

Most tools in this category treat their scoring as a black box. Ours is documented below, in enough detail that you can predict what will move it. No sample sizes, no pass rates, no claimed callback improvements, just the mechanics.

The one-sentence version

Resume Optimizer Pro's match score is capped at 95 and never reaches 100, because the engine weights every skill the job posting asks for by where you actually evidenced it: a skill demonstrated inside your current role counts at full weight, the same skill listed only in a skills section counts at 0.3, and a must-have skill carries four times the weight of a nice-to-have.

What the score is. It measures one resume against one specific job description. It is not a general resume-quality grade, and it is deliberately capped at 95: no tool outside the employer's own applicant tracking system can certify an outcome, so a perfect score would be a lie about what we can see.

How a skill is weighted. Two independent factors multiply together.

  • How the posting ranks it. A must-have counts 3.0, a preferred skill 1.5, a nice-to-have 0.75. So one must-have is worth exactly four nice-to-haves. Hard skills carry full weight; soft skills are halved.
  • Where you evidenced it. Inside a current role, or a role that ended within the last year, counts 1.0. Ending within three years, 0.85. Within five years, 0.65. Within eight years, 0.5. Older or undated, 0.4. Appearing only in a standalone skills list or summary, with nothing in your work history to back it, counts 0.3. Appearing in both work history and a skills list adds 0.2 to the work-history figure, capped at 1.0.

What that means in practice. Adding a keyword to your skills list because a posting mentioned it earns roughly a third of what the same keyword earns when it sits inside a bullet describing what you did with it this year. Keyword stuffing is not merely ineffective here, it is explicitly discounted. And only the first 20 matched skills feed the bonus, so padding a skills list past twenty adds nothing at all.

The rest of the composition. A holistic base score from a language model, plus five deterministic bonuses computed in code: exact skill match, job-title alignment, management-level scope, education and certifications. The deterministic layer recomputes without an additional model call, which is why the score updates live while you edit rather than making you resubmit.

The score decays with the resume. If you strip content out, the portion of the base that cannot be recomputed is scaled down by the proportion of words that survive, so a gutted resume trends toward zero instead of resting on a comfortable floor. Deleting the weak half of your experience does not make the strong half score higher.

When to Choose Each

Choose Enhancv if
  • Your resume reaches a human before it reaches a portal, and visual distinctiveness is doing real work for you.
  • You are in a design-forward field where the document is partly a portfolio piece.
  • You want a drafting environment with strong content prompts and are happy to do the per-job tailoring yourself.
  • You can commit for six months, which is where their $16.50 per-month rate lives.
Choose Resume Optimizer Pro if
  • You are applying at volume through corporate portals and the tailoring, not the layout, is the bottleneck.
  • You want the gaps closed for you and the resume re-scored, not just a list of what is missing.
  • You want to know how the score is computed, including how placement and recency change a skill's weight.
  • You want the lowest per-month rate available and can pay annually at $9.95 per month.
  • You are a recruiter or staffing team that needs API access to reformat and optimize candidate resumes at scale.

Final Verdict: Enhancv Review Summary

Enhancv is a good product that is frequently reviewed badly, including by an earlier version of this page. It produces the best-looking resumes in the category, it holds 4.5 out of 5 across more than five thousand reviews, and it does score your resume against a specific job ad through a Pro ATS check covering 27 separate items. Anyone telling you otherwise has not opened it recently.

The reservations are narrower and more specific than the usual complaints. Its published free plan lasts a week, brands your downloads and caps you at twelve section items, which makes it a demo rather than a free tier. Its pricing is not one price: we could not read a USD figure off its own pricing page on 16 August 2026, and independent observations of monthly, quarterly and semiannual rates disagree with each other. And its multi-month plans pro-rate refunds at the monthly rate, which quietly erases most of the multi-month discount if you leave early.

Where we differ is the step after the score. Enhancv audits and hands you the list. We rewrite the resume to close the gaps, re-score it, and weight each matched skill by where in your history you actually evidenced it. On price, our annual plan at $9.95 per month is the cheapest option in this comparison and our quarterly beats theirs, while their month-to-month is 95 cents cheaper than ours. If your resume is going to a person and design is the differentiator, buy Enhancv. If it is going through application portals and per-posting tailoring is what is eating your evenings, buy the optimizer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Enhancv

There is no single answer, because Enhancv renders prices client-side and by region and appears to run several price cohorts. Enhancv's own pricing page title advertised a starting rate of $16.50 per month when we observed it on 16 August 2026. The best-corroborated full set on that date, from a Resume Genius review, was $29 monthly, $59 per quarter which is $19.67 per month, and $99 semiannually which is $16.50 per month and matches Enhancv's own advertised entry rate. Another review observed the same day listed $24.99, $49.97 and $79.94. Check the page in your own browser and currency before subscribing.

Not permanently. Enhancv's free plan is valid for 7 days, in the vendor's own words on its help centre, observed 16 August 2026. No credit card is required to start. Within that week you get all templates and design tools, but downloads carry Enhancv branding, you are capped at a maximum of 12 section items, and the ATS check and real-time content suggestions are excluded. Enhancv does not publish a free-tier document count; one third-party review observed a limit of two resumes and cover letters.

There is no separate free trial product. The free plan is the trial: 7 days, no credit card required. Because no card is taken, that free week does not convert into a charge on its own. Paid plans are a different matter and do renew automatically. Enhancv states that at the beginning of each billing period you are charged for the entire period, and that subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel on the Billing page before the next billing date.

Yes if your resume is read by a person first and visual distinctiveness helps you, in which case it is the best-looking output in the category at an observed $16.50 per month on the semiannual plan. Less so if you apply at volume through corporate portals, because Enhancv's ATS check reports the gaps against each posting and closing them is manual work you repeat for every application. For a single application, take the 7-day free plan and decide from there.

Its posture is unremarkable and we found no red flags. Enhancv's privacy policy, fetched 16 August 2026 and itself last updated 23 July 2024, names OpenAI as an AI technology provider and states the company has not sold or shared personal information for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve months. It supports GDPR and CCPA rights, and account deletion removes resumes and photos from its database, cloud storage and third-party services, though email and payment details are retained for accounting. Two things to know: the policy does not address whether user content trains AI models, and we found no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification published anywhere on the site.

Aggregate sentiment is strong. On reviews.io, observed 16 August 2026, Enhancv holds 4.5 out of 5 from 5,318 reviews with 90% of reviewers recommending it. Praise clusters on speed to a finished document, visual quality and responsive support. Criticism clusters on PDF export formatting problems such as misplaced logos and altered spacing, AI suggestions that need heavy editing, and template rigidity for users who want to keep their own structure. Trustpilot hosts an Enhancv profile but blocked our fetch, so we do not quote a Trustpilot score.

Cancel on the Billing page before your next billing date; Enhancv states this is solely your responsibility. You keep Pro access until the period you already paid for expires, and afterwards you can still download your resumes but cannot edit them without resubscribing. On refunds, monthly fees are non-refundable and non-cancelable. Quarterly and semiannual plans qualify for a partial pro-rated refund, computed by charging you for the months used at the monthly rate and refunding the difference, which erodes most of the multi-month discount. Cancelling does not itself trigger a refund; you must request one through the help centre.

Yes. Enhancv's built-in ATS Check scores your resume against the exact job ad you paste in, and a dedicated Resume Tailoring feature runs 27 checks spanning file format, template compatibility, experience and skills alignment against the posting, education, contact-header formatting and grammar. It is a Pro feature and is excluded from the 7-day free plan. The difference from Resume Optimizer Pro is what happens next: Enhancv reports the gaps and you edit manually, whereas we rewrite the content to close them and re-score the result, weighting each matched skill by where in your work history it appears.

Enhancv, also typed as EnhanceCV or Enhance CV, is a design-forward resume builder with an AI writing assistant and a Pro ATS check that scores your resume against a pasted job ad. The best alternative depends on why you are leaving. For per-posting tailoring done for you rather than reported to you, and for the lowest per-month rate at $9.95 on our annual plan, try the free Resume Optimizer Pro ATS check. For a genuinely free builder, note that most "free" resume tools in this category, ours included, restrict downloads in some way, so check the export terms before you invest time in a document.
